Resistance
Dear Friend,
After consistently writing and talking about how to move from resistance to allowing, and why that is important, I am moved to break it all down for you in a few simple posts. Here’s how it will flow.
Today I’ll cover resistance. What it is, how it shows up, and how to get past it
Then in a few days we’ll go over the Art of Allowing.
After that, how to Listen and what it means to your life.
And finally how that all leads to a deeper sense of
- Relaxation
- Love
- Clarity
- Divine Flow and Fulfillment
So why am I doing all this?
Well as you may already know, this is my life’s true purpose and by me sharing this information with you, I allow more love into my life.
Let’s talk about the first part …
Resisting
When you resist something, you exert a force to try to prevent something – or the effects of something from happening. You feel tight, push against, hold down, and basically use a lot of energy and strength in your muscles and mind to keep something from happening.
Pushing Till Exhaustion With No Solution
This is exhausting, isn’t it!
Now imagine a thought or a feeling is suggesting something you don’t like. Instead of pushing against a physical door, now you are mentally/emotionally pushing against the door of your consciousness to keep a thought or feeling out.
The question is: Does the resisting solve the problem? Or does it keep you stuck in a pattern of pushing against, with no relief in sight?
Becoming Aware Of How You Resist
Today I invite you to just become aware of how you resist an experience that you don’t want.
Bringing awareness to something that was previously unconscious is the first step and is powerful and revealing.
Over the next few days, as you read my upcoming posts, you’ll be getting more specific ideas of how to deal with it differently…without spending another penny.
You’ll learn ways that will liberate these thoughts or emotions so you don’t have to spend your precious energy trying to keep them out anymore.
We Resist Who We Are
In my private practice as a Hakomi Practitioner I get to see how so many of us unconsciously resist most of ourselves: the way we look, speak, make money (or don’t), treat ourselves, love ourselves, listen to ourselves, trust ourselves and simply live our lives.
Resistance slips into most of what we are and do, and keeps us in a constant state of tension, strive and discontent.
I always enjoy watching how clarity naturally emerges when the futility of resistance is realized, and a different ‘tool’ is employed.
We resist because we don’t know what else to do, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
If you’d like more insight about the difference between resistance and not wanting something, please listen to saying No and Mean it. This is a very different distinction that helps cutting the cord.
Stay tuned … in a few days we’ll address a new tool, the A in the A.L.L. Formula – one that promises a transforming solution.
ALL Love,
Pernilla
P.S. Do you know someone in your circle of friends or family who shows an obvious resistance in their life?
Do you see it in their life and want to help them let it go and become happier in some way, but you’re just not sure how to approach them?
You can simply forward this post to them, telling them you thought they’d enjoy reading this and then ALL they need to do is send an email to me and they’ll not only get a FREE copy of my ebook Women Standing for Love, they’ll ALSO get my upcoming emails with the solutions for struggle and resistance in my A.L.L. Formula. (Since I wrote this free ebook my focus has changed and it is just as much for Men as it is for Women!)
Thank You
