Dear Friend,
Body Wisdom – Your Body Knows
- Is it easy for you to say No when you mean No?
- Or do you have a tendency to say Yes to people when you really mean No?
It seems like such a basic step to actually say No when you mean No, and Yes when you mean Yes. But when it comes down to it, I see so many people having problems just saying those 2 words from a place of authenticity and in the right context.
How can that be?
How hard can it be to say Yes or No when you feel it?
Body Wisdom: The Felt Sense of a Yes and of a No
In my work as a somatic counselor, it is easy to see how that can be. Most people have never really learned how to listen to their bodies and what the body language or Felt Sense of a Yes and a No FEEL like. Once you get to know this Felt Sense, you’d think it is really easy. Not so. Most of us have also never learned how to trust our body wisdom as a real language to the point of letting ourselves be guided by it.
What we have learned is how to ignore our body wisdom and override it with our mind’s cautions and suggestions and that way we live a divided life – from our Self.
In my own experience, I did not always feel safe to express my authentic Yes and No and I think most of us have not felt safe to do that out of fear of being rejected, not loved or getting in trouble. So please be kind to yourself as your authentic expression is emerging. It takes a good dose of courage and plenty of practice to master this instrument and the wisdom it continually emanates.

Your body always knows
Even though it may not feel safe yet to express your authenticity, it is not a bad idea to start getting to know your body wisdom and language anyway and start living more in oneness with yourself. Then you can always decide later if it is something you want to act on. (Hint: once you live in oneness with yourself, it won’t make sense anymore to NOT express it or act on it.)
Several years ago I created a free E-course
to help build a solid foundation for inner peace. It teaches the basic steps of what a Yes and No FEEL like.
It makes sense doesn’t it, that if we want inner peace, we need to be at one with ourselves inside – all of ourselves – including our Yes’ and our No’s. Until we are that, we are experiencing inner conflict and inner war.
If you feel moved to reinforce your foundation to help build a life of inner peace and authenticity, please receive this E-course as my gift.
