Dear Friend,
It IS an old pattern, isn’t it, to focus on the problem, hoping it will change or get better – expecting the worst and then bracing for the impact. We sure have bought into that for a long time, and it has become so familiar that we don’t even question it. There seems to be a universal pattern of expecting and preparing for the worst.
Kinda silly, isn’t it when you really look at that, but when you understand that we are wired for survival it makes a little more sense that we keep looking for a way to survive in a world that looks and feels so uncertain.
I admit that I bought into it too, so I know how much stress, fear and misery it causes. The more clearly I see it, the less sense it makes to continue buying into expecting and planning for the worst.
It is a deep thread in all of us, and frankly… I am done with it. I don’t know if ‘it’ is done with me, because it is still waiting around every corner tempting me to expect something ‘not good’ will happen. But I am done and over time have gotten enough presence, strength and vigilance to not engage with these suggestive thoughts anymore.
When we buy into those suggestions tempting us to come along for a ride, all of our energy is wrapped up in the past, not free to create what we really want. So it is necessary to leave this expectation behind. Leaving the veil is often one step at a time so that nothing – no legs or arms – are left behind. Unhooking one tendril at a time allows more and more energy for what is outside the veil. But leaving a leg stuck in the web while you try to live outside of it will only leave you limping.
Are You Focusing On The Problem Or Embracing The Solution?
Mindfulness is super helpful to realize where you attention lies: on the problem or on the solution.
Are you trying to change the past or are you ready to leave it behind?
Are you trying to create a future based on your past experiences?
Are you ready to embrace your Heart and the vision, the longing, the Knowing of what is possible in there, and put your precious Energy there?
I hope so. You can listen to my radio show Unveiled here to dive in deeper.
