How often do we ask ourselves that question?

The question itself speaks to the fact that we believe we are a victim of our circumstances, where something happens to us. As long as we are not yet aware that we are the creators of our own experience and that they happen as us and through us, not to us, this question would make sense.

A better question would be: “How did this happen to me?” and then start inquiring into how we make choices that are not always in our own best interest.

Even though it is focusing on relationships and break ups, it really relates to all of life, because life is all about relationship.
