There are probably more than 7 steps, but today I would like to share with your the 7 steps to successful commitment and use the body and Felt Sense to make it real for you.
- Are you familiar with the term ‘Felt Sense?’
- How about with the experience of the Felt Sense?
The Felt Sense is very closely related to your success rate and will be addressed below in the 7 steps to successful commitment.
Have you ever committed to something and felt really good about it – inspired and full of confidence – a feeling of ‘Yes, I can do this’?
Those feelings were felt in your body and gave you the power and fuel to follow through on your endeavor, didn’t they?
On the other hand, have you ever committed to something without really feeling good about it? Maybe it was someone else’ suggestion – something you thought you should do – or something where the outcome sounded good, but the effort you needed to put into it…eh, oops?
Those feelings were also felt in your body and didn’t give you the power and fuel to follow through with, did they?
I mentioned before that if you commit based on something you want to get rid of, without feeling the power, joy and aliveness of the outcome that you want, your chances to succeed are slim. Succeeding completely depends on your inner state of feeling – the feeling of how deeply you want it – how it feels to have it – how willing you are to go all the way to reach your goal. Anything less than wanting it 100% is likely to determine the outcome.
So… getting clear on what you really want and how much you want it is where it all begins.
Here are the 7 steps to successful commitment:
- Know what you want to experience/have/change/achieve/get rid of/stop/quit in your life.
- Do an internal intake of what it is that you want and get clear on how deeply you want it.
- Feel in your body how it feels to commit to this. Does it make you feel inspired, happy, energized? Or do you feel resistance, fear, hesitance, rebellion, overwhelm or doubt if you can really do this?
- Pay attention to the balance between how good it feels and how ‘not good’ it feels. Which one is strongest? Ask yourself once more if you really want this and why.
- Now you have a lot of information whether you will be successful or not. You can reevaluate if this is really a priority or not. If it is not, then commit to what you truly want instead and save yourself the trouble of committing to something you really don’t want and add another failure to your list.
- This is the point to choose consciously if you want to proceed or not. If you know you really want it, start feeling and committing to the feeling of what you want and be willing to face the obstacles on your way instead of letting them take you off course.
- If your commitment does not make you feel good, then what does make you feel good? If you want safety more than transformation, then please acknowledge that and take time to listen to this part of yourself. There is nothing wrong with that. Once you acknowledge that part instead of overriding it and failing in your commitment, you can start eliminating some of the obstacles that have made you feel like a failure in the past. This requires some deeper inquiry and will be addressed in another post.
I know, it’s easier said or written than lived, isn’t it?
